$25 – Provides access to a community outing for a resident at Ferguson Lodge.

More info: Since 1981 Ferguson Lodge has provided specialised accommodation and care for people with a Spinal Cord Injury. Due to mobility restrictions, residents often need additional support and specialist transport options to access community events and locations. Through our wellbeing program, we arrange a series of outings for residents throughout the year. These include day trips to the art gallery, museums, gardens, beaches and the zoo. We also have local trips to Bunnings, Costco, local shopping centres, Flower Power and other areas of interest.

$50 – Provides an hour of service to an older person with a SCI without adequate funding

More Info: People who acquire an SCI over the age of 65 years are not eligible for NDIS and need to access limited supports through the Aged Care system which provides around 20% of the funding that would be available through NDIS or other schemes. This lack of adequate funding has a significant impact on a person’s ability to receive supports at home. This often results in premature admission to an Aged Care Residential Facility.
