The release of the final report on NDIS Provider and Worker Registration taskforce.

The taskforce has recommended 4 types of provider registration:

  1. Advanced registration for high risk supports such as behaviour supports and group homes.
  2. General registration for medium-risk supports such as personal care, high-intensity personal activities, community access and therapy where there is a lot of one to one supports.
  3. Self-directed Support Registration for participants who contract all of their supports directly.
  4. Basic registration for lower-risk supports.

NDIS have not provided a response as yet to this report. At Forward and BrightSky, we are fully registered across all of our services and take pride in offering the highest quality, transparent services for all participants.

The Taskforce also made recommendations about a Worker Registration Scheme, which should include:

  • Public register of workers with identification verification.
  • Requirements for training, qualifications, and on-going professional development.

At Forward, we understand the importance of ensuring all staff are trained in the needs of our clients. All support workers undergo intensive training on commencement and regular refresher training throughout the year. We know that this is important for ensuring the highest quality of care to clients.
